5 years

Danny and I recently celebrated our 5 year anniversary in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. We were there for 5 sunrises and six sunsets and we watch all of them. The weather was beautiful and where we stayed was perfect. The picture above is from our balcony.
We spent our days snorkeling, swimming, walking and driving a lot, eating, visiting tourist traps, and surfing. Yes, I surfed. I cant believe it either. I'm sure I looked hilarious.
I am so grateful for our families who took care of the little ones for us. They loved spending time with their families. We can never be grateful enough.

Disneyland & Easter Vacation

If you can't tell, this is Jack hugging Mickey Mouse. We spent six days in Disneyland and eleven days all together on vacation. We had a blast and it went by way too fast. I have so many pictures and stories but I just cant seem to manage it all. So here is some of the highlights.

A Day at the beach and Los Angeles. We spent one day at the beach and driving around Hollywood. We ate lunch at Pink's and dessert at Magnolia Bakery. They are known for their banana pudding. And let me tell you, it was delicious.

Jack flying his kite. He was a natural. Jack loved the beach. He loved playing in the sand and water. It seemed like he was in his natural element.

Align Center
Jack's highlight of the trip. He loved that he got to meet Woody. This kid loves Toy Story and he was so excited. Woody really liked Jack too. He made Jack pose like this and there were a few other poses. It was funny cause Jack was really quiet and would do whatever Woody wanted him to do.

Last day of Disneyland. We spent most of the day tracking down characters to get their autographs and photos. Mostly Jessie and Buzz. They weren't easy to track down and we still never got a picture with them. Maybe next time. This is Jack playing at one of the playgrounds. He is very adventurous and daring. He loved playing on the bear rocks. He looked over at me and said, "Hey Mom, I am Rock Man!" It was not easy to leave. We spent a lot of time in Disneyland and Jack really loved it. We have been home for over a week now and he is still talking about it. He will ask us if he can go see all his favorite people on tv at Disneyland. The other night as we were asleep he rolled over to me and patted my cheeks and said, "Mom, I miss Disneyland." "I want to go to Disneyland."

This is a picture of Jack playing at the water park.

On our way home from California we made a weekend stop in "Curious George"( That is what Jack calls St. George) to meet up with Danny's family. This is where we celebrate Easter every year. We don't have a family Easter picture of us where we are all in our Easter best because we never got the chance to dress up and go to church. Sunday morning Jack was throwing up his dinner from the night before. And eventually half of Danny's family was to. Some of the family got a bad case of food poisoning. Luckily out of our little family it was just Jack (sorry Jack) but he was fine later that evening.

Jack and his cousins made these really cute Easter candy necklaces. They strung fruit loops and peeps on black licorice rope. This is a picture of Jack just finishing their Easter egg hunt.

D.C.

We are back from our 8 days in D.C. We had a great time and already miss it, but we are also happy to be home.

The first few days we stayed in the city so Danny could go to work on the hill and stay busy with co-workers and such. Jack and I would walk to Starbucks every morning for breakfast and go for a walk around the hotel. During the day Jack and I walked to the National Mall and went to the Museums, ate lunch in the park and watched the people walk by. It was a couple of lonely days for Jack and I without Danny but we had some great adventures together.

In the City!

National Zoo!

When Danny was finished with work we got to start our vacation together. We traveled out of D.C. and moved to a new hotel in our favorite city - Alexandria. I was so happy to go back and see our old apartment and go to our favorite restaurants and to all our old hang out spots.

The Water Front in Old Town.

King Street in Old Town. We met some friends there that night for dinner and walk down the streets.

Our really good friend Stacy gave us a tour of the West Wing at the White House. One of our highlights of the trip.

Our last day we went to the Reading Festival on the Mall. It was packed full of people. We spent most of our time at the PBS Kids tent, where we got to see Elmo and this Character (above). Jack was really scared of him, but he loved Elmo.

Mr. McFeely. "Speedy Delivery"

D.C. was so great we did so many things that I just don't have time to blog about them all. We saw and spent time with our friends which we love and miss. We hope to see them soon.

The Get Up Kids

The Get Up Kids were in town this week and we made sure we were there. It was so much fun, they played a really great show. We have not been to a show in a long time. I asked Danny the another day what was the last concert we ventured out to. It took us awhile to figure it out but James Taylor last summer and Limbeck almost two years ago. Between the two of us we have been to a lot of shows and we have been to a lot of shows together. So going out to a show the other night was great. I almost felt 21 again. Even though 21 was not that long ago.

I am getting really excited for the next week. We are traveling east to where we used to call home. However I am getting some anxiety traveling with a baby for four hours on a plane. Does anyone have any tips on how Jack and I can get through this?

Also I would like to share that I am excited that the new seasons of The Office and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia started this week! And 30 Rock will start in a couple weeks. My three favorite shows.

Weekend Getaways

This past weekend Danny and I both got the chance to leave town. Unfortunately we were separated, Danny was on business in Austin, Texas and I was visiting my sister who lives about 4 hours away from our home. Although Danny was there on business and had to work most of the time he still went about the town and ate some BBQ and listen to some live music. Jack and I on the other hand had a fun weekend hanging out with family in a small but crowed town.

Bat's, Bat's, Bat's! Danny said there is over 600,000 bat's that live under this bridge in Austin. Creepy.

I was so happy to visit my sister this past weekend. She has such an adorable family and is a great mom. Thank you for letting us stay with you, we love you and miss you.
