House Post #3

The past week they have been framing our home. It looks more and more like a home to me. Everything has been going well so far, we couldn't ask for more. They will be done framing this week and move on to the next phase. I am not sure what that is but it's moving along right on schedule!

Progress Post #2

 The week of March 4th they broke ground and have poured concrete!

Every week we get more excited. The weather has been beautiful. The high last week was 52 degrees

and this week it has been in the 60's. Love this time of year, love spring, loving my new home.

House post #1

 The Lot!!! It's bigger in person:-)

Building a home has been exciting! Starting last August we got serious and started staging our home  in Midvale to be sold. I loved our old home. It was cute, cozy, perfect location, and loved our neighbors and friends, but it was just the right time to do so. By September it was up for sale by owner. I am very proud to say that because it was a task but we did it and it was worth it. I will never use a weasel (agent) for anything. By mid to end October it was sold. I wasn't surprised cause my house really was that cute:-) Selling the home has been the hardest part of this process yet. Every inch of it was stressful. But now it sold we have moved in with the in-laws and we are on our way to start digging within the next two weeks!

I took this picture awhile ago when we first put up our tree. There are no ornaments on the bottom half of the tree for a reason.

Every Christmas morning we have brunch at my parents house. Here we all are playing the new Super Mario Brothers. Which is an awesome game. I bought it for Danny this year and we have played it almost every night. We also had fun playing Beatles Rockband - also a sweet game.

Jack loves to be outside, so Christmas Eve we were all home and decided to bundle up the baby and take him out. He loved it.

We celebrated Jack's first Birthday this past week. We had a pirate themed party. Jack is going to be a pirate for Halloween and he has the cutest costume but for some reason I didn't get a picture of him in it at his party.

The only thing we have hanging up in the entire home is birthday decorations. Danny's birthday is close to Jack's so we just kept all the birthday decor out.

Secrets to a Happy Marriage and a Small Update

There are a few articles on this blog, that gives great advice for matrimony.

We are still working really hard on our home. We have been painting the past week and it seems like it will never end. It will probably take a few more weeks to finish painting and all the last minute touches. Refurbishing a house is not easy and Danny has been doing a lot of work. I really appreciate all his work and all our family members who have helped. Thank You.

3 Years

We celebrated our 3rd year anniversary and we are still two fools in love.

This is us sitting on our front porch just finishing our dinner from Carl's Jr. It's a little tradition we have.

We have been working on our house everyday - even the day of our anniversary - but it's worth it. We still have some work to do but it's coming along. We just finished staining our floors. We will have to put three more coats of finish on it before they are complete. We are so excited that our home ended up having hard wood floors through out. We decided to finish them and it is looking great. After we finish with the floors then it's time to paint and put in all new base boards. It is going to look amazing.

Our Kitchen. Danny has already started the damage. I will post more pictures when the house starts looking like ours and not a dump. My niece walked in our home and the first thing she said was "this is an ugly room" so yes we need to finish what we have started. We can't wait to move in.

Monthly goals:

First goal is to be the best mom to Jack. Second find a home for our family. Third try to loose 4 more pounds by eating a lot of cookies and not going on walks cause it is so damn cold out side. Fourth try not to be so negative towards people ( I can be negative about the weather). Last, and it's not a hard one, tell Danny and Jack I love them everyday.
